3 Quick Buying Tips - Things to Consider

  • Convection. Compared to electric ranges, gas ranges can have trouble with even heating in the oven. If you don't have the budget for a dual fuel range but want good baking results, convection will help distribute heat more evenly so a roast won't just brown on top and multiple sheets of cookies won't come out in different shades. Convection ranges start at around $1,000 MSRP. Read more about convection here!

  • Oven Cleaning. Steam cleaning is a newer option on the market compared to traditional high heat self cleaning. To learn more, check out our article on steam clean ovens. Some models come with only one type of cleaning or the other while a few brands offer models with both. If you are used to self clean ovens, we recommend looking for a model that has self clean or steam and self clean, as steam clean is lighter-duty.

  • Stovetop Elements. Many of the models on our list offer five burners. This fifth burner can offer unique features to expand the use of your stove, such as being oval-shaped to accommodate larger cookware or griddles. Many stoves also come with a high-powered burner to boil water quickly and to produce great results when it comes to cuisines that require high heat. Continuous grates are another nice feature that is becoming more common on today's ranges - they look great and make it easy to move pots and pans around!
