3 Quick Buying Tips - Things to Consider

  • Convection. Although electric ranges tend to heat more evenly than gas ranges, convection is still useful for getting better cooking results. It distributes heat more evenly so a roast won't just brown on top and multiple sheets of cookies won't come out in different shades. Read more about convection here!

  • Oven Cleaning. Steam cleaning is a newer option on the market compared to traditional high heat self cleaning. To learn more, check out our article on steam clean ovens. Some models come with only one type of cleaning or the other while a few brands offer models with both. If you are used to self clean ovens, we recommend choosing a model with self clean or both steam and self clean.

  • Stovetop Elements. The models on our list all offer dual or triple expandable elements that can be used with different sizes of cookware. A low-wattage Warm Zone fifth element is also helpful. Do you have extra-large cookware? You may be interested in a stove with elements that can expand to 12".

2. Samsung NE59N6630SG - 5.9 cu ft - $1,099

Another great option comes from Korean manufacturer Samsung. The Samsung NE59N6630SG is one of the best electric range options with True Convection and a high capacity at 5.9 cubic feet. It comes in premium fingerprint-resistant black stainless steel at $1,099 and stainless steel at $999.

In addition to True Convection, this model offers five stovetop elements, with one dual 6"/9" element and one triple 6"/9"/12" element, plus a 7" warming zone. The Rapid Boil element offers 3,300W of power to - you guessed it - quickly bring things to a boil! 3. GE JB860SJSS - 6.6 cu ft (Double Oven) - $1,609

The GE JB860SJSS is one of our top sellers when it comes to electric double oven ranges. You can find it in stainless steel at $1,609, or in slate, black slate, or black stainless steel at $1,709 (click the link to compare those three color options). It has a 2.2 cubic foot upper oven and a 4.4 cubic foot lower oven. This year GE has been promoting this model a bit during holiday sales, so you may be able to find it for around 20% off!

You'll find True European Convection with Precise Air in the lower oven and a non-convection upper oven. What is "Precise Air"? Basically it means that the convection fan reverses direction, which GE claims results in better air circulation for more even browning and baking results. The black gloss oven interior makes debris a little less obvious. Both ovens can be cleaned with a pyrolytic self clean cycle and come with broil elements as well as bake elements.

The stovetop has a lot going for it as well, with a 3,000W dual 9"/12" diameter element, a 3,100W 6"/9" Power Boil element, and a fifth element warming zone, too. This well featured double oven range will look great in your kitchen while giving you all the flexibility you need! The true convection feature definitely makes it one of the best double oven electric ranges for baking.

One model that may be slightly cheaper outside of promo periods is the Whirlpool WGE745C0FS - it's almost as popular as this GE model so it's worth checking out, although in our opinion the GE model has nicer styling.

  • True European Convection with Precise Air in lower oven

  • Self clean ovens

  • Most powerful element: 3,100W

  • Dual 9"/6" element

  • Dual 9"/12" element
