Appliance removal is one of those considerations that consumers often overlook when they first start shopping for a new appliance.  Once you think the process through, you'll start to realize that appliance removal is an important factor in the buying process and want to consider it when choosing your retailer. The question as to whether appliance removal is standard can be answered with - it depends. Some retail stores have a process in place to remove your old appliance upon the delivery of your new one and others don't. This is full service versus drop ship type delivery. The second consideration is the cost of removing your old appliance. Make sure to ask the appliance salesperson about whether removal is available and if there is any additional charge for removal.
