Top Loading Washers - Discover the Benefits

Posted by Bob Allaire on Aug 9, 2021 8:30 AM

If you are in the market for a new washer, you are probably trying to learn about every style and option available to you. One option worth exploring is top loading washers.

Top load washers offer a variety of tub sizes and offer a similar water and energy-saving story to that of front loaders. They load from the top so you don't have to bend over when loading and unloading the washer. This also eliminates the need for costly bases. Some don’t have agitators, giving you more room in the tub, allowing you to wash larger items such as quilts and bed spreads. (Side note: You can find even more information on washing machines in our washing machine buying guide!)

Posted by Bob Allaire on Jul 22, 2021 9:00 AM

They do not have finished sides and the compressor is usually located on the top of the unit. These are available in larger sizes and are much pricier than freestanding refrigerators. They are usually purchased for very expensive homes along with other high-end appliances. (Before we continue: for more info on choosing a new refrigerator, check out our refrigerator buying guide!)

Ventless dryers are a go-to option for apartments, condos, and other living situations where outdoor venting isn't possible. In the US, we're used to seeing the steam outside of our window when the dryer is running, but in Europe, these ventless dryers are more common than vented dryers by a huge margin. If you're looking for a new ventless dryer for your home, one of the options to consider is heat pump dryers.

Heat pump dryers are a newer type of ventless dryer. In general, ventless dryers are more expensive than vented options.
