Posted by Todd Buehler on Feb 18, 2021 10:00 AM

If you are looking for a new range and have only a 24 inch opening to work with, choices can be limited. Many of the ranges designed to fit into a 24 inch space are lower end models, most without smooth tops and often not available in stainless steel. For many customers with small spaces, a coil top range can do the job.

However, if you want a smooth top for your condo, apartment, or small kitchen, 24 inch electric range smooth top models can be hard to find and even harder to find reviews for. We wrote this blog to help provide more information about a few of the great models that are available in smooth top for the 24 inch market to help you find the best model for you.

When is the Best Time to Buy Appliances?

Posted by Todd Buehler on Dec 4, 2020 9:00 AM

We often hear this question from customers: "When is the best time to buy appliances?" The answer is actually pretty simple - think holidays! National appliance sales are worth waiting for, as prices are discounted anywhere from 15% to 35% (and even up to 40% on some items).

If you have the luxury of planning your next appliance purchase, you may want to consider looking at appliances during one of the industry's holiday sale periods. But sometimes, you just can't wait for a holiday. If your refrigerator is not cooling or you are moving into a new home, you may not have the pleasure of marking your next appliance purchase on your calendar and waiting for a sale. However, if you do have time on your side, consider these holiday periods for the best deals.

Is a Stainless Steel Interior Dishwasher Worth the Price?

Posted by Todd Buehler on Dec 1, 2020 8:30 AM

When researching a new dishwasher, you have a lot to consider. Most people want good quality, durability, washing capability and, of course, they want their new dishwasher to be quiet (learn about dishwasher decibel levels in our article, or check out our dishwasher buying guide for more info on buying a new dishwasher).

One of the biggest contributors to how your dishwasher will perform in most of these areas is the materials used in construction, particularly of the interior. Dishwasher interiors and door liners are made of stainless steel or plastic and sometimes a mix of both materials. A stainless steel interior dishwasher is an option you should consider, although they tend to have a higher price. Because plastic is less expensive, it is usually found in lower-end dishwashers. Most manufacturers use plastic to make spray arms, silverware baskets, dishwasher racks, and other interior parts.

Quietest Dishwashers Under $1,000 - Bosch vs KitchenAid

Posted by Todd Buehler on Oct 20, 2020 10:00 AM

Statistics show that dishwashers are a necessity for most families, right up there with clothes washers and dryers. Having an appliance clean up after a meal rather than hand washing is preferred as people are busy with work, school, sports, activities, and hopefully, the occasional relaxing movie night. Plus, dishwashers use less water than hand washing and can sanitize dishes and cutlery with super-hot water.

Many spacious homes have the kitchen either open to the living quarters or very close by within listening distance, so having a quiet dishwasher can be critical. There's nothing worse than hearing a continuous humming sound while you're trying to read a book or talk with friends and family.  In some cases, dishwashers can run over two hours depending on the cycle, so quietness matters!

Let's compare Bosch and KitchenAid and take a close look at two of their quietest dishwashers under $1,000. (Before we dig in, check out our writeup on dishwasher decibel levels for more info!)
