3 Quick Buying Tips - Things to Consider
Convection. Although electric ovens tend to heat more evenly than gas ovens, convection is still useful for getting better cooking results. It distributes heat more evenly, so a roast won't just brown on top and multiple sheets of cookies won't come out in different shades. Read more about convection here!
Oven Cleaning. Steam cleaning is a newer option on the market compared to traditional high heat self cleaning. To learn more, check out our article on steam clean ovens. Some models come with only one type of cleaning or the other, while a few brands offer models with both. If you are used to self clean ovens, we recommend choosing a model with self clean or both steam and self clean.
Stovetop Elements. The models on our list all offer dual or triple expandable elements that can be used with different sizes of cookware. A low-wattage Warm Zone fifth element is also helpful. Do you have extra-large cookware? You may be interested in a stove with elements that can expand to 12".
