1. The Frigidaire Professional FPID2498SF - $1,149
First off in our dishwasher review is the Frigidaire Professional FPID2498SF, manufactured by Electrolux. Frigidaire has topped the charts with their newly revised commercially styled platform. At first glance, you can’t help but notice the bar handle atop the full-length smudge-proof stainless steel door - a great look for a great brand! Adding to the seamless look are the hidden top controls.
Contained within the full stainless steel interior tub and door are features like the OrbitClean wash system with four times more water coverage, Precision Pro Wash Zones for cleaning hard-to-reach areas in bottles and vases, and 47 dBA operation (learn more about dishwasher decibel levels in our article). New in this Energy Star rated model is the convenient third rack - a feature in demand by many higher-end dishwasher consumers.
Operating this fully integrated dishwasher is handled by selections on the top edge of the door when opened. Options include a few customer favorites like a quick wash option and EvenDry fan-assisted drying. This quiet, flexible dishwasher offers a ton of cleaning power and a premium look for a reasonable price!

2. The KitchenAid KDTE204KPS - $949
A strong competitor to compare against Frigidaire Professional dishwashers is the KitchenAid KDTE204KPS. It's available in PrintShield stainless steel at $949, in PrintShield black stainless steel at $1,049, in black at $959, and in white at $949. You'll notice that this model also features a premium bar handle and top controls, but sneaks in at a slightly lower price than the Frigidaire Professional model in stainless steel.
As this model operates at only 39 dBA (KitchenAid's quietest cleaning available), you can run a wash cycle without disruption while entertaining your guests or having conversations. If you prefer whisper-quiet cleaning, this dishwasher is definitely for you!

It offers a third level rack for more usable space, ideal for cooking tools and other long, flat items. Both the adjustable middle rack and the third rack feature SatinGlide® Max Rails for an ultra-smooth feel when pulling out the racks, even with a heavy load.
This KitchenAid model includes a Heat Dry option using a heating element to help speed up the drying process. This is a less common feature in newer, more energy-efficient dishwashers, so it's one to consider if you want thoroughly dry dishes after each cycle, or wash a lot of plastics.
Features Comparison
Now that you've taken a look at each model in these KitchenAid vs Frigidaire Professional Series dishwasher reviews in isolation, let's compare them against one another in a few categories:
Cycle Options: Both models feature a quick wash option and a sanitize cycle. However, the KitchenAid model offers a heated dry option, while the Frigidaire model uses a fan-assisted condensation dry method. Heated dry will use more energy but can be helpful if you have a lot of hard-to-dry plastic items in the upper rack.
Operation Noise: The KitchenAid model operates at a whisper-quiet 39 dBA, while the Frigidaire model is louder at 47 dBA. Although the Frigidaire will be a nice change from an older, noisier dishwasher, you'll barely notice that the KitchenAid is running. If quiet operation is your top priority, you might want to check out our reviews of the top 10 quietest dishwashers!
Internal Features: Both include a third rack, but the Frigidaire Professional model offers targeted spray jets for cleaning inside of deep or oddly shaped items. If you want perfectly clean stemware, water bottles, vases, and other items, the PrecisionPro Wash Zones in the Frigidaire model might be a great feature for you.
Look and Feel: Although they have very similar exterior designs, the KitchenAid model displays a logo on the lower area of the dishwasher, while the Frigidaire Professional Series dishwasher has a perfectly smooth face. While the Frigidaire model only comes in stainless steel, the KitchenAid model is offered in more colors: stainless steel, black, white, and even in black stainless steel.
As you can see, these are very similar models that give you great bang for your buck. If you like both of them equally, you may want to keep an eye out for appliance rebates or appliance packages for these brands so you can save money when you buy!
