How to Choose a New Grill

What Makes a Weber Different

Weber gas grills are like no other!

Weber is an American company headquartered in Illinois known for producing top-quality, highly dependable grilling products.  Weber gas grills are among the most popular grills in the world. While the majority of  their grills are manufactured in the US, they ship worldwide. Their first product wasn’t the Weber gas grill that's so popular today: it was a covered charcoal grill. However, this charcoal grill was the first of its kind, invented by an Illinois metal worker named George Stephen. The shape of a buoy later inspired him in the creation of the original Weber kettle grill.

Since its founding, Weber has been a customer-centric, innovation-driven company using customer input to lead the development of new features across their product line. New ideas are tested in the Weber grilling lab to ensure that they function as designed and are easy to use.

What sets Weber apart from other manufacturers?

  • All grills are tested prior to leaving the factory. Every lid is examined, every ignitor tested, every burner lit.

  • Replacement parts are easy to order and to install, extending the life of your grill.

  • Certified barbecue experts are available 7 days a week to field questions on usage and care. Weber fields more than 500,000 calls per year from customers.

  • A 10-year warranty covering all parts of full-size Weber gas models starting in 2018!

You can see why Weber gas grills are like no other brand on the market. As a small business, we can't waste our time on poor-quality grills. We sell Weber because they're worth it!

Now we'll dive in and explore some of their individual grill series and some other important topics.

  • If you're looking for a basic gas grill for hot dogs and hamburgers, or want nice features in a small space, you'll probably like the Spirit series. (Click the link to skip to that section of our guide.) Prices range from $379-$699.

The Weber Spirit Series

The Weber Spirit II Series of gas  grills offers tremendous value for the entry-level grill consumer. The Spirit II Series features the E-210 and the E-310 models, updated back in 2018 with open cart designs as a nod to the Spirit grills of the late 90s. The basic 2- and 3-burner models can be found at $379-$479.

Weber's GS4 technology is featured in both of these models. The GS4 grilling system offers upgraded ignitors, high-performance burners, a convenient grease management system, and Weber's unique Flavorizer® bars, an incredibly popular Weber innovation created in the 80s. The Weber Genesis Series

Weber's Genesis II Series of gas  grills offers the widest variety for consumers. In 2019, they simplified the lineup to feature three burner and four burner grills only - six burner grills are now found only in the Summit line, and the Spirit line offers two burner models as well as more basic three burner models.

For 2020, they have made even more improvements to the lineup by offering both open cart and closed cart style models. Select models come in a premium stainless steel finish as well as porcelain finishes in black and other colors (copper, crimson, and smoke).

All Genesis II models come with the following features:
  • Tapered stainless steel burners for more consistent heat across the cooking surface

  • Side tables - For 2020 the height of the frame and side tables has increased so they are easier to use

  • Lid thermometers

  • Tool hooks

  • iGrill 3 ready - monitor the internal temperatures of your food and get alerts on your smartphone

  • Stainless steel Flavorizer bars

  • Propane tank storage with fuel gauge on LP models

  • NG models come with a 10-foot flexible hose

  • Closed cart and open cart design options

They got rid of the LX models in 2019 and combined customers' favorite features from the LX models into the Genesis II lineup. They offer closed cart as well as open cart designs in this lineup, too! Models ending in "5" are closed-cart designs.

The model types are:

  • E: Porcelain-enameled stainless steel grates, all available in black, three additional color options available on 330 models

Warranty and Pricing Info

Industry-Leading 10 Year Major Component Warranty

Weber's warranty on their Spirit, Genesis and Summit models is second to none. These models come with a full 10-year parts warranty. This is unheard of in the industry! Obviously the warranty excludes ordinary wear and tear and is subject to certain terms and conditions but for all intents and purposes it is a bumper to bumper warranty covering all manufacturing defects. Read the full warranty on all Weber products here

Transparent Pricing Policy

Another thing consumers love about Weber is their transparent pricing. You'll essentially find the same pricing on Weber grills throughout the US. This alleviates the need to shop around and you can buy your Weber from any authorized retailer.  Some retailers offer incentives like free assembly and delivery, or free removal of your old grill to entice customers to buy. Some even offer free propane fills or throw in small accessories at no charge. Regardless, what you see is what you get as far as the actual price of the grill itself!

Grill Covers

Covering your grill in the off season and when it is not in use is an inexpensive and effective way to protect your grill and prolong its life. A grill cover protects your grill from the elements, helping to preserve its operational components like handles, hinges, wheels, side tables, and so on. Not only that, it also helps keep your grill looking its best cosmetically, protecting it from the elements and the sun's damaging rays. Weber grill covers range in price from $49 to $99 depending on the size and series of your grill.

Cooking Utensils, Brushes and Cleaners

Weber offers a complete line of cooking utensils for the true grill master. They also make specially designed brushes and cleaning products to aid in cleaning your grill. A clean grill is a long-lasting grill and a clean grill produces the most delicious results!
