Delivery Policies & Pricing: How It Works & What to Expect

The Delivery & Installation Process
1. You purchase an appliance or appliance package. Depending on factors like pandemic-induced backorders, whether your home is being renovated, etc, we may schedule delivery right away, or call you days or weeks from the time of the sale to do so.
- At this point, your salesperson should discuss the delivery charges you can expect and anything you should do before delivery day arrives.
2. Scheduling the delivery: We deliver every day of the week except Wednesdays and Sundays.
- The AM deliveries are typically between 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
- The PM deliveries are typically between 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
- This can vary based on holidays and other factors.
You can choose a morning or afternoon window. We do our best to adapt to your needs, but some factors are beyond our control.
3. On the day of the delivery: We will give you a phone call at the beginning of your selected delivery window (morning or afternoon) to let you know which job you are on the route and give you an approximate time frame for our arrival. You will receive a second call about 30 minutes prior to the delivery team’s arrival to let you know that they are on their way.
-
The drivers will call from cellphones. Please do not ignore calls the day of the delivery.
-
Delays may occur due to factors that we cannot predict, so unfortunately we can’t give an exact time for delivery.
-
Depending on the type of appliance and your installation needs, the appliance will be delivered either by our delivery team or by a trusted independent installer. For example, we recommend independent installers to handle dishwashers, gas ranges, and gas dryers, as well as built-in appliances like cooktops and wall ovens.
Our Delivery Service Includes...
-
Bringing in and setting up the new appliance (if it is a “plug and play” appliance like a washing machine or refrigerator)
-
Removing packaging materials
-
Removing one old appliance (we charge $15 for each removal beyond the first appliance)
- Power cords, venting, and hoses for electric ranges, electric dryers, and washers
We utilize trusted independent installers for the following appliances:
-
Dishwashers
-
Gas ranges and gas dryers
-
Built-in appliances like cooktops and wall ovens
- Any instances where plumbing or electrical work needs to be modified in order to install the appliance
In these cases, you are welcome to use your own installer as well. You can pick up the item(s) from the store or have Bellingham Electric deliver to your home.
How Much Does It Cost?
Local delivery to most surrounding communities by Bellingham Electric is $99 (includes Central Mass, Southern 495 Belt, most of Rhode Island). For longer distances, we may charge $129 or $149.
The cost of delivery and installation varies when an independent installer is involved, mainly because these are more complicated installation processes. For example, delivery and installation of a dishwasher typically costs around $250+, while installing a gas appliance can be closer to $349. Your salesperson will be happy to explain the estimated costs for your specific case.
Additional Installation Options Include:
-
Refrigerators with water lines: Bellingham Electric can connect your new refrigerator to a water line as long as the following requirements are met:
-
The water line is braided stainless steel. We will not reconnect existing copper or plastic water lines to the new refrigerator. In select cases, we may be able to replace these water lines with braided stainless steel lines.
-
An adult household member is available to shut off the water main, and/or there is an easily accessible working water shut off that meets our safety standards located in the same room as the fridge.
- Other factors at the discretion of our delivery team.
-
-
Installing an icemaker kit in a refrigerator: For an additional charge, we can install an icemaker kit in a compatible refrigerator that does not have one factory-installed.
-
Converting gas appliances to LP gas: We can convert gas appliances from NG to LP gas for an additional charge.
-
Mounting an over the range microwave: If there is an outlet in the cabinet above the stove, we can replace an existing over the range microwave with a new one for $159. We cannot hardwire or install outlets, but our recommended installers can.
-
Dryer venting and side venting: Dryer ductwork needs to be rigid metal venting. For very short runs, "accordion-style" metal ductwork may be acceptable. We can replace short runs of plastic ductwork or other unacceptable ductwork, but if the ductwork is very long, passes through walls/roofing/etc, we cannot replace it and we cannot hook up a dryer to it.
-
Side venting a dryer: We can set up a dryer for side venting before delivery for an additional charge.
