What a Model Tag/Serial Tag Looks Like
Tag appearances vary depending on the age of the appliance and the manufacturer. Below are some examples - these are mostly modern examples and is by no means an exhaustive catalog of what your model's tag could look like.
Refrigerator
For any refrigerator from any brand, the location of the model/serial tag can vary depending on when the refrigerator was made. Here are the places you should check:
- Fresh food section: The inner walls and door trim, especially the side walls and top rim
- Fresh food section: Behind the crisper drawers, or on the bottom floor
- On the inside of the door (usually fresh food but can also be freezer)
- Freezer section: usually on a side wall (more common with top freezer refrigerators)
- On or near the edges or hinges of any doors
- The exterior - on a side wall near the front
Dishwasher
For any dishwasher from any brand, the location of the model/serial tag can vary depending on what it was made. Here are the places you should check:
- On and around the inner edges of the door - check all sides
- Around where the door seals to the tub - check all sides
- Less commonly, it may be on the exterior side walls or rear of the dishwasher
Range/Stove
For any range from any brand, the location of the model/serial tag can vary depending on what it was made. Here are the places you should check:
- Around the oven door - on the door itself or where the door contacts the front panel of the stove
- Inside the oven cavity on one of the walls
- On the inside of the storage drawer - this is especially common with modern freestanding ranges
- On the back of the control panel - this is especially common with modern double oven ranges - it may be a set of metal tags you can reach over the backguard and flip up to access
- On the exterior side walls

Microwave
For any microwave from any brand, the location of the model/serial tag can vary depending on what type it is and when it was made. Here are the places you should check:
- On the door or door frame of the microwave
- The inner walls of the microwave
- Countertop models: the exterior back and sides
- Over the range microwaves: on the bottom, usually near the back
- Microwave drawers: often on the "faceplate" of the microwave - the inside of the front of the "drawer" - or visible in the rear base of the item when the drawer is fully extended

Top Load Washing Machine
For any top load washing machine from any brand, the location of the model/serial tag can vary depending on when the washer was made. Here are the places you should check:
- On the underside of the lid
- The tub rim (usually concealed when the lid is closed)
- The back of the washer, usually near the top
- The sides of the washer
Front Load Washing Machine
For any front load washing machine from any brand, the location of the model/serial tag can vary depending on when the washer was made. Here are the places you should check:
- On the inside of the door
- Around the door frame or where the door meets the front wall of the washer
- On the exterior front, sides, or back
Dryer
For any dryer from any brand, the location of the model/serial tag can vary depending on when the dryer was made. Here are the places you should check:
- On the inside of the door
- On the door frame, including near the hinges
- Behind the control panel, on the exterior rear of the unit
- On the exterior side walls
How to Email a Photo of the Model Tag
How to Email a Photo on iPhone
- Take the photo(s)
- Open your photos app and tap on the photo you want to send
- To send multiple photos: long press on the first photo you want to send until a blue checkmark appears on that photo. Then tap on the other photos you want to send.
- Tap on the "share" button/icon (it looks like the image below but is usually blue)

- Click the Mail app icon to email the photo
- Type in service@bellinghamelectric.com as the "to" email address and add a descriptive subject line
How to Email a Photo on an Android Smartphone - Google Photos
- Take the photo(s)
- Open the Google Photos app and tap on the photo you want to send
- To send multiple photos: Long press on the first photo you want to send until a blue checkmark appears on the photo. Then tap on the other photos you want to send.
- Tap on the "Share" button/icon (which looks similar to the icon below but is usually blue and has narrower lines)
- Use the "Share to apps" option and choose your email app of choice
- Send the photo to service@bellinghamelectric.com with a descriptive subject line
