There are many brands to consider when doing your research for a new dishwasher (check out our dishwasher buying guide for more info). Some brands like GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag and Frigidaire have huge national advertising budgets and seem to be featured everywhere you turn. However, there are some lesser-known brands that offer great quality and value at lower price points. Hotpoint, a GE family brand, is a shining example of that.
Hotpoint is produced by GE Appliances, a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturer Haier. The brand doesn’t have a lot of marketing dollars behind it but it does have great dependable products at low prices.
We wanted to take the opportunity to provide a few Hotpoint dishwasher reviews to help you get familiar with the brand. You may find that you want to add this brand to your shopping list. Hotpoint has a long history in the appliance industry: although they may be new to you, they’ve been around since 1911!
At the time of this writing, Hotpoint is offering one dishwasher base model to the public. The Hotpoint HDA2100HWW is a very basic model, priced at just $329. It is also available in black, model HDA2100HBB at the same price of $329. It has a plastic tub, a standard 24″ width, front controls, and operates at 64 dBA (find out more about dishwasher decibel levels in our article) and includes five cycles and two options.
This dishwasher is not Energy Star rated. It offers simple dial controls to choose the cycle and turn the Heated Dry option on or off, and it comes with a one-year limited warranty.

Should You Buy a Hotpoint Dishwasher? – Alternatives

If your home has an open floor plan or if you spend a lot of time in and around your kitchen, you may find that this dishwasher disrupts conversations when in use! Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find quiet dishwashers at budget pricing. A dishwasher around 55 decibels could still be relatively inexpensive while being half as noisy as a 64 decibel model like this Hotpoint option.

GE, Frigidaire, and Amana offer similar value-priced dishwashers that will be about the same in terms of performance and noise. This dishwasher isn’t quite as good at cleaning as a mid-range model, so keeping heavy soils to a minimum will help its performance.

If you can wait for a holiday promotion or shop the clearance section of your local appliance store, you may be able to find a higher-end dishwasher marked down to a more affordable price.
